GRAPE STOMP AND STEW!!!!!

At this time of year, the Mediterranean countryside comes alive for the grape picking season.
The customs and traditions have not changed for thousands of years, as the grape growers prepare the celebrations that accompany the start of the wine preparation.
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in an 18th century "Grape Stomp"

Venue: La Finca Maserof

An 18th century country house, that has been completely restored with objects and tools that date back to 1700.
This is where the grapes are grown, and made in to wine.
The same methods are used today as 300 years ago. The Finca has its own wine label
"Le Baron de Maserof" witch is regarded by wine expert's world wide to be one of the best wines produced in Spain.

When: Thursday 27-09-2007, pick up by coach starts at 5.30 pm.

ATTENTION: This year only one day!

Programme:

Leave Benidorm by coach, on arrival at Finca Maserof in the Jalón Valley, the owners of the house will show us where the wine is and invite us to help ourselves before guiding us round their lovely old house.
Once we have tasted the wine, the fun begins: "THE WINE STOMPING".
In short trousers, and bare footed, as times gone by we join in with the
crushing of the grapes.
Once our legs are tired, we will be seated at long 400 year old tables and benches, where we help ourselves to home made vegetable stew and wine.
Coach returns to Benidorm approx. 23:30h.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. At the finca Maserof they do not sell wine, they only drink it.

2. There is no waitress, service-help yourself to as much as you like,
you are amongst friends!

3. The grapes are crusted wear shorts or a skirt. After the grape crusting you will be able to wash your feet.

4. BRING: shorts or skirts, light weight jumper, flat shoes (no high heels).
